Dial-A-Ride provides curb to curb service that is safe, convenient, and available to all.
Dial-A-Ride bus services operate Monday through Saturday.
Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Exact fare for each trip is required.
$3.00 base rate (each way)
+$1.00 trip crossing the Myakka Bridge
+$1.00 trip crossing the Peace River Bridge
+$3.00 trip crossing the Boca Grande Bridge
- $1.00 discount for Transportation, disadvantaged (TD) passengers.
TD passengers must identify themselves when making reservations.
Reservations must be made in advance based on availability. Desired trips and can be scheduled on an ongoing basis (daily, weekly, monthly). Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Passengers under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
No charge for children using a car seat. No fare charged for a passenger’s aide or caregiver however, a seat must be reserved.
Cancellations must be called in the day before the scheduled pick-up.

Sunshine Ride provides door to door service for Charlotte County’s Transportation Disadvantaged citizens. New riders need to allow 2-3 business days for eligibility to be determined prior to making their first reservation.
Who is eligible?
- Physically or otherwise disabled
- 60 years of age or older
- Receiving Medicaid
- Qualified as low income
- Living in a rural area
Sunshine Ride provides most services on weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. however service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with reservations. Medicaid urgent care is available upon demand through contracted providers when needed.
